I have a subscription to Consumer Reports, they are NOT always right.
The Braun that won is a POS, the only reason it won was it had a very good sharp blade that dulls quickly, in the long run it will not last and its over 50 bucks everywhere I looked.
As with everything you get what you pay for, this is no different. Buy an American Product for once and remember that it wont be thrown away like the Piece of Crap throw away products we buy from China every day. If you ever visit someone in a foreign country, say spain, they dont have garages full of useless junk, they have a few very functional and quality things, thats the way I live as well.

This rare Made In the U.S.A. countertop appliance is the favorite of American Chefs in the restaurant trade. On par with other proud American products such as Kitchen Aid Stand Mixers, SubZero, Wolf Ranges,Harley Davidson motor cycles and Caterpiller tractors, this machine is built to perform and to last.

How about crushing ice or making salad dressing? Yes, and it also makes Frappacinos at your favorite coffe bar. This is the machine of choice for making margaritas or slushes in homes, bars and restaurants.
A favorite of country fair attendees for over 75 years it is available to the general public at fine retailers throughout the U.S.A. and at Amazon.com. At a time when most manufacturers of kitchenwares are moving production to Mexico or Asia, VitaMix continues to produce a sturdy, high-qua

The Vita-Mix 5000 is billed as "10 kitchen appliances in one." This tall, heavy, and pricey machine did well in our blending tests, but NO BETTER THAN CHEAPER BLENDERS. What the high price gets you is versatility. We tested two of its many claims. The Vita-Mix mixed bread dough well, but cleaning out the dough was a chore. It also made decent ice cream, but it was quite a project. If having a do-it-all device is a priority, consider the Vita-Mix. Otherwise, we'd get separate appliances. ~ Consumer Reports
